Internship Program Requirements
Interns will be expected (depending on desired role of writer or editor) to work 10-15 hours weekly for the course of one semester (for college credit) or longer (on a volunteer basis).
Interns must have access to the internet, be able to check their email at least once daily, and maintain consistent contact with myself, and their assigned writer(s) or editor throughout the course of the internship.
Writer responsibilities include:
–Pitch 2-3 (or more) article topics for the magazine’s website in the following categories: self-care, adulthood, health and fitness, or entertainment
–Write 2 or more articles on approved topics in 300+ words
–Conduct research/generate interesting and original interview questions
–Conduct interviews (via in person, phone, or email)
–Secure credible sources (mainly secondary research)
–Keep record of all sources used in articles (both primary and secondary research)
Editor responsibilities include:
–Manage and maintain open communication with writers assigned to them
–Fact-check and copyedit assigned articles
All applicants must:
–Have a professional email address (Ex: JohnDoe@gmail.com or RobertsonD2@gmail.com)
–Have a basic understanding of WordPress (to accept network invitation and publish a short bio)
Interns may receive college credit, or intern on a volunteer basis.
